Eagle watching tour offered Saturday
An Eagle Watching Tour will be held Saturday at Lake Ouachita State Park in Mountain Pine. Lake Ouachita provides remarkable habitat for wintering bald eagles.
Take a ride aboard our covered tour boat in search of these magnificent raptors.
Dress warmly and bring your binoculars. Make your reservations and purchase tickets at the visitor center.
Admission is $6.50 adults, $3.50 children ages 6-12, under 6 free.

Santa Shack opens Nov. 23 in Cabot
Cabot City Beautiful announces its 11th annual Santa Shack at Cabot Wal-Mart today through Dec. 23. Bring the children to see Santa Claus to tell him what they’d like for Christmas.
Free candy canes for every child and photos will be available. Santa will be there Fridays at 6 to 8 p.m., Saturdays at 9 to 11 a.m., 12 to 2 p.m., 3 to 5 p.m., 6 to 8 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
World Mission Fair at Jacksonville
First Methodist Church of Jacksonville is sponsoring its annual World Mission Fair and Breakfast with Santa Dec. 1. Breakfast with Santa will be from 8-10:30 a.m. It is all you can eat pancakes and sausage.
Cost is kids 4 and under free, kids 5-12 $3, everyone else $5. Photos with Santa are $5 and can be taken until approximately noon.
All proceeds will be used by First United Methodist Church youth for their mission projects.
Lunch will also be served prices ranging from 50 cents to $3 (beverages, bowl of chili or soup, nachos and assorted deserts).
Shopping will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Unique gifts can be purchased from Arkansas rice depot, Heifer International, Jackson Graves Foundation, Joseph Pfeifer Camp, The Smile Train, United Methodist committee on Relief (UMCOR), Harvesters Community Food Network, Habitat for Humanity, Fishnet Ministries, Nothing but Nets, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, World Mission and the Red Cross Blood Mobile will be on site for blood donations.
All proceeds collected by these organizations will be used for their missions.
The event will be at the First Methodist Church of Jacksonville Family Life Center 220 West Main St.
Children's Theater performance slated
The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus will be presented through Dec. 16 at Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theater in Little Rock.
Adapted from the book by L. Frank Baum, this play tells the story of where Santa came from, who the elves are and why Santa uses a sleigh and reindeer to make and deliver his gifts. This delightful story will fill your heart with holiday wonder!
Admission is $14 adults and $11 children.
