Dorm picnic
All dorm residents and their supervisors are invited to attend a picnic today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the outdoor basketball courts in the dormitory area adjacent to the bioenvironmental flight. Food and beverages for this event will be provided by the Little Rock Air Force Base first sergeant's council and chief's group. Contact supervisors and first sergeants for more information.
Retirement ceremony
A retirement ceremony will be held for Master Sgt. Benito Aviles at 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at the 53rd Airlift Squadron theatre. A reception will follow.
DRMO free issue
The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office is a source of supply for reusing assets that have become excess/surplus to the need of the DOD, and they are free issue. There must be a valid unit requirement. If items are accountable pieces of equipment coordination with unit equipment custodians is required to determine if there is an authorization to have the equipment. Check out DRMO inventories on the Internet by going to http://www.drms.dla.mil and using the Reutilization/Transfer/Donation Customers, then “DOD Property Search” option. Sergeants' Association meeting Thursday
Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 658 general meeting is set for 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at Hangar 1080. As a reminder, there will be a drawing for two free memberships to any Senior Airman or below and any staff sergeant or tech sergeant who is not already a member. The meeting is open for everyone.
Tea party slated
The Little Rock Air Force Base Spouses’ Club is hosting a Mad Hatter Tea Party Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at the base conference center. Check in and daycare drop off begins at 10:30 a.m. Tjuana Byrd from the Susan G. Komen Foundation is scheduled to be the event’s guest speaker. The cost is $9.95 for club members and $10.95 for non-members.

Volunteers sought
The MEO office is currently seeking volunteers for the Special Observance Committee that is organizing events for Native American History Month (November).
