Did you know active duty family members that have “third-party” health insurance are required to notify 314th Medical Group personnel?
The Third Party Collection Program (TPCP), established under Consolidated Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1986, mandates military medical treatment facilities bill health insurance carriers for the cost of medical care furnished to retirees and their family members who are covered by other health insurance.
What’s in it for you?
This program benefits you by providing funds under TPCP to purchase the latest medical equipment and facility renovations so the 314th MDG can ultimately provide enhanced health care services for you as a patient. You will not pay a policy deductible or be billed for any uncollected charges when you receive care from the clinic and your premium will not increase.
The clinic will absorb the deductible by using federal tax dollars to cover any balance not paid by the insurance carrier.
The Little Rock Air Force Base Clinic is entitled to receive the same benefits for health care services performed as any other health care providers receive.
Customers should keep in mind the obligation to pay medical care costs apply to the insurance carrier. The insurance company will pay benefits directly to the base clinic. The process is simple. Retirees and family members will be asked to fill out a Department of Defense Form 2569, Record of Other Health Insurance, regardless of whether they have other health insurance.
The form will be maintained in the patient’s medical record and must be updated annually. Customers only need to fill out this form once a year unless there are changes to insurance information.
