314th LRS customer liaison forum May 24

The 314th Logistics Readiness Squadron’s Customer Liaison Office is holding a supply forum May 24 at 10 a.m.
This forum will address various supply and logistics issues. The meeting is being held in Bldg 450 in the procedures conference room. All supply and logistics representatives are welcome to attend. Contact the 314th LRS CLO at 987-2132 to reserve a seat.


Legal office closure

The base legal office will be closed Monday at 10 a.m. Notary services and powers of attorney will be available from 8 to 10 a.m. Legal assistance will still be available for emergencies only. Regular customer service hours resume Tuesday. The next legal assistance will be Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. Contact the legal office at 987-7886 for more information.


AFSPA meeting

The Air Force Security Police Association’s Little Rock chapter is recruiting members. The first meeting will be held tomorrow in Bldg 272 at 9 a.m. Chief Master Sgt Keith Morris, who has more than 30 years of security forces experience, is the guest speaker. Estate claim

CGOC set to today

The CGOC monthly meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the Hangar 1080 Ski room. Guest speaker is Lt. Col. Czelusta from the 463rd OSS. Meeting time allows the group to roll straight into Rock Talk for refreshments/networking. The next culinary adventure will be at 6:30 p.m. May 18 at Damgoode Pies on Cantrell. RSVP to Lt. Kelly George.


Asian Pacific American Heritage lunch May 24

The Asian Pacific American Heritage Month luncheon is May 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hangar 1080.
The lunch will include an Asian Pacific buffet, dancing and a fashion show.

Tickets are $10 for club members and $11 for non members. Contact Capt. Leslie Torres at 987-8314 before close of business Friday for tickets.


NAF jobs available

The following non-appropriated-fund jobs are available: lodging, custodial worker, NA-02, flexible hours; child development center, child development program assistant CC-02, flexible hours and child development program assistant, CC-03, flexible hours; youth center, recreation assistant NF-II, flexible hours. Applicants must be 16 years of age to apply for summer positions.

Applicants must be 18 years of age to apply for Youth Center positions and must have a high school diploma or GED.

International Migratory Bird Day Saturday

Saturday is International Migratory Bird Day. More than 129 different species of birds live on or migrate through Little Rock Air Force Base each year. Pet owners are asked to keep cats indoors during spring migration. For more information on bird watching or conservation on base, contact Mr. Jim Popham at 987-3681. Free fly-tying seminar set

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is partnering with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to offer a free fly-tying seminar Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the William Carl Garner Visitor Center in Heber Springs. This seminar is open to people 12 and older. Participants will be shown basic fly tying principals and the “woolly booger.”

For more information, or to sign up, contact the visitor’s center at 362-9067. The visitor’s center is three miles north of Heber Springs on Highway 25 at the west end of the Greer’s Ferry Dam.
