314 AW/CC Calls

Brig. Gen. (S) Wayne Schatz, 314th Airlift Wing Commander is holding commander's calls in the base theater on the following days and times:

Airman Call: Sept. 19 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
NCO/SNCO Call: Sept. 19 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Officer's Call: Sept. 20 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
Civilian Call: Sept. 20 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Attendees should be in place at least five minutes prior to start times. Parking will be limited so car pools are encouraged.


Retirement ceremonies slated

Master Sgt. Ray Jones, 314th Airlift Wing safety office, will retire Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Little Rock Air Force Base chapel annex. Uniform will be uniform of the day. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony. Contact 1st Lt. Aaron Tripi at 987-3599 for more information.

A retirement ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at Bldg. 234 auditorium for Tech. Sgt. Mark Pitoniak, 463rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Sgt. Pitoniak is retiring after serving 20 years in the Air Force.


Command run date, location moved

The 314th Airlift Wing command run for September will take place Tuesday. Everyone should meet at 6:45 a.m. at the parade grounds for reveille and words from Brig. Gen. (S) Wayne Schatz, 314 AW commander, regarding Patriot's Day.

The command run will follow an alternate route this month. Personnel should still park in normal areas and walk to the parade grounds and then form up with their respective units.


Debt trap seminar

The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a “lunch and learn” seminar on payday lending and alternatives to falling into debt traps. The seminar is being held Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Lunch is provided. Call 987-6801 for details


Future AFRC seminars

The Airman and Family Readiness Center plans to host an Investment 101 seminar Oct. 15 and a Deals on Wheels seminar on Nov. 5. Seminars are “lunch and learn” events. Call 987-6801 to register for each seminar and for details.


Colleges on base for college fair

 A major outdoor event is scheduled for the Base Library walkway on Thursday, Sept. 13. Stop by between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and meet with college representatives.

Everyone is invited: military, civilians and family members including high school students. In case of rain the event will move to the TCAC ballroom. For details call 987-6817.


Spouses Club set to host craft bazaar

The Little Rock Air Force Base Spouses’ Club is having a Holiday Craft Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the LRAFB Conference Center.

There will be a small food court at this event. Food vendor slots are open to squadrons/units on a first come first served basis. The booth fee is $50. Interested units may contact Lisa Hersant at 835-1522. The food item you wish to sell will also be on a first come first served basis.

Craft booths are also available with a cost of $50 per booth. Proceeds will benefit LRSC charities, scholarship funds and school grants. For more information please contact Lisa Hersant at 835-1522.
